This Wednesday, Oct. 16th, school will dismiss at 12:22 pm. The exteneded afternoon will provide staff the opportunity to focus on WASC. As a staff, we are dedicated to improviing our school in every area. and this time allows for in-depth reflection and planning. The bell schedule is posted on the school calendar under Upcoming Events.
Schedules will be distributed at Orientation. Students not attending Orientation may pick up schedules from the registrar on August 12, 13 and 14th or on the first day of school.
Counselors will not be available on August 12-14th.

The attached document containes Board Policy 6145.1 and Administrative Regulation 6145.1(a) (also known as the 25 Day Rule) and suspendable Ed Codes as this all relates to graduation.
In February 2011, the Board of Education modified Board Policy (BP) 5145.12 (Search and Seizure) and adopted the accompanying Administrative Regulation (AR) for Grades K-12. Read the linked document for more details.
The PSAT/NMSQT will be offered on Saturday, October 18th at MCHS. Juniors will be allowed to sign up first, and if there are openings available, Sophomores may also take the exam. Tickets will go on sale in the Business Office at the beginning of October; approximate cost is $22. Taken as a Junior, this test qualifies students for the National Merit Scholarship. Students should watch for the announcements regarding cost, testing rooms, etc. as the testing date draws near.
Senior yearbook photos must be taken by October 25th. Parent/friendship ads are due December 1st, 2008. See the attached parent/friendship ad order form for specific information.
Maria Carrillo’s Biology and Life Skills curricula include examining the issues of human reproduction, family planning, birth control and sexually transmitted diseases. Materials used in these areas of study are available at school for parent review. Please telephone your student’s Biology or Life Skills teacher to make an appointment for this review.

the appropriate form.
