Welcome to Social Science

Social Science offers a variety of courses from 9th to 12th grade including Humanities, World History, United States History, United States Government, Economics and Psychology. 

 The Social Science Department is committed to delivering a content-rich curriculum to each student at Maria Carrillo High School by using a variety of practice and assessment tools in critical thinking, research, and oral and written presentation.  The department uses student assessment data as a basis for discussions on department benchmarks, practices, and future assessments.  Using the California Social Studies framework and independent research of each content area, educational materials for the Department are researched by the members of the Department to best meet the content needs of the students.
